It took me until 40 to get this, like really get this into my thick skull…

🧠 Where I missed the boat in my previous businesses, relationships, and health was that I couldn’t slow down enough to do the small steps on for a long period of time AND take the necessary pause to reflect and measure.

🫣 Instead it was…

short term fix, quick wins

constant stress and anxiety

the incessant need to escape for a moment of peace

❓Why?

My life was a series of actions I took because I was always running from fake bears. 🐻

And let me tell you…. 👉a life lived in survival creates not one single sustainable outcome.👈

That’s why I couldn’t take the small steps and pause for moments of reflection (and gratitude)… because if I slowed down or stopped, I’d get eaten by the (fake) bears 🧸😉

Fast forward to Southwest Dietitian Group … my passion and proof to myself that not only can I slow down and do it right, that when I do 1️⃣ I don’t die and 2️⃣ there’s a life well lived on the other side of the discomfort.

p.s. I see it in our patients over and over and over again….

🏃‍♀️Chronic stress, constant survival, constant fight or flight (and even freeze🥶) steals their ability to slow down and do it right, keeps their digestion suppressed and their blood sugar high.

🤔 Why can’t we slow down and consistently take the small steps that turn into the health and vitality we want?

❤️ I don’t know all the reasons but I do know first hand that not being strong enough, not having enough willpower, or not feeling capable is NOT one of them.

And, that discomfort doesn’t last forever.
